The Friends of Cheam Common Infants’ is a fund raising committee run by parents of children in the school. To date funds have enabled the school to provide extra, valuable resources for the children to use including ICT equipment and audio equipment for the hall, and last year we refurbished the new outdoor areas and playgrounds. This academic year 2014-15 we have been asked by the school to raise funds to improve technology within the school by updating the ICT Suite and buying IPADs for all the children to use.

We organise many fund raising events throughout the school year. Over the past year these have included a Family photo day, Christmas Fair, Cake Sales, Penny Mile and the Summer Fair, a joint venture with the Junior School. We also sell very reasonably priced second hand school uniform half termly.

We support the school by co-ordinating various groups as and when required, e.g. volunteers for Crèches to help those with young children attend meetings and school events. We now have a bank of volunteers who make up a working party of parents, who are keen to contribute their time to helping the school, but are unable to commit to working in the classrooms due to younger siblings. Last term our working party were invaluable with their help preparing for the Christmas Fair and School Making Day.

The success of the Friends depends entirely on the support of all parents and staff. Thank you to those who have already contributed. To those who might be considering it we would greatly appreciate any assistance. This can be anything from being a committee member, taking a lead role in organising fund-raising events, or even just giving a little of your time to helping out.

How do we communicate?

Class reps are nominated each year. The reps are a great conduit of information, so make sure your rep. has your email address. Any communications will be circulated in this way. There is also a Friends notice board in the playground near the gate to the Junior Playground.
