Music

At Cheam Common Infants’, we believe that music is a universal language that brings joy, creativity, and a sense of community to our Infants school experience. Our vibrant music curriculum uses the programme Sing Up, it is designed to ignite the passion for music in our young learners, fostering their musical talents and nurturing their appreciation for the art.

Music is an integral part of our curriculum because it enriches pupils's lives in numerous ways. It enhances cognitive development, boosts self-esteem, and teaches discipline and teamwork. Through music, pupils learn to express themselves, think critically, and connect with others on a profound level. It is more than just notes and melodies; it's a journey of self-discovery.

Music comes alive when shared with an audience, and our school takes great pride in hosting Harvest and Christmas performances in our local church. These events give our pupils the chance to showcase their talents, build confidence, and connect with the school community. pupils have the opportunity to learn to play percussion in Sing Up lessons and they have the opportunity for Violin lessons and Rocksteady where they also perform.

At Cheam Common Infants’, we believe that every pupil has a unique melody waiting to be heard, and we are here to help them find their voice in the world of music.
