Open Days For Prospective Parents For September 2022

We will be holding Virtual New Parent Live Information Meetings with a Q&A in October and November.  We will also provide the opportunity to have a short tour of the school.

We ask that you sign up to both the presentations and tours using the form below.

Open day tours for September 2022 admissions

The tours will have a maximum of 15 people.  Once you have chosen your slot, the place will not be available to anyone else and once all 15 places have been allocated there will be no further slots available. There will be a number of tours available. Please contact the admissions team on to be placed on a waiting list if you are unable to book a slot.

We would ask that when you are attending the tour you do not bring your children, if your child is offered a place at the school for 2022, there will be lots of opportunities for them to visit their new school. We would also request that you wear a mask when visiting.

Starting Reception

The law states that children are admitted to School at the beginning of the term after he or she reaches 5 years of age. In Sutton, all children are admitted earlier than this. All Reception children start school in September. Other children are accepted into the school at any time during the year, providing there is a place available in the relevant year group.

All applications for Reception are made through your Local Authority.  Please refer to the Local Authority website for details on admission criteria.

Starting Nursery

The earliest that a child can be considered to start a Sutton Community Nursery is at the beginning of the term after their third birthday. Your child’s date of birth will determine the maximum amount of time that they can spend in nursery before starting primary school. Sutton aims to provide at least one year of part-time nursery education prior to a child’s admission to primary school. In Sutton, children are eligible to start primary school in the academic year after they turn four years of age. Many nurseries will fill up in the Autumn term. Therefore, if your child is eligible to start nursery in the Spring term, there will be no guarantee that places will be available. Your child may have to wait until the Autumn term to be considered for a vacancy.

All applications for Nursery for September 2022 are made through the school. The deadline for receipt of applications is 15 January 2022 at 3.30 pm.

The Application Form for Nursery 2022 is a Google form, please complete and submit the form to be considered for a place in September 2022.
