My professional career began working in computing within banking in London and took me to the position of Managing Director for International Communication Technologies for Eastern Europe where I worked in Vienna for two years before co-founding Brontide Limited, an ICT infrastructure and consultancy business which has expanded considerably over recent years.

I first became a Governor of Cheam Park Farm Infants School in 2002 and have continued to serve as a governor through the school becoming an academy and forming Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy. I am Vice Chair at Cheam Park Farm and, in 2019 I joined the joint Local Governing Board of Cheam Common Infants and Cheam Common Junior schools.

I am currently the Link Governor for Inclusion (SEND, DA and EAL) on both Local Governing Boards and Link Governor for Achievement for Cheam Park Farm. Over the years I have also had experience in the areas of literacy, safeguarding, curriculum development and admissions. Over the last few years I have also supported reading in Year 2 at Cheam Park Farm on a weekly basis and helped on school trips. Outside of school I work on a voluntary basis for a local Christian charity providing assemblies and RE support in primary schools in Sutton.

Natasha Kelly: Staff Governor

My name is Natasha Kelly and I am a Year 6 teacher at Cheam Common Junior Academy. This is my third year of teaching, having previously worked in Coventry.

As part of the P.E. team, I am responsible for Healthy Schools, as well as leading the Junior Travel Ambassadors and the Eco Council. I love sports, particularly football, and help out with the school's girls' football teams.

I also teach Yoga and run the Healthy Lions Club, a group for disadvantaged children who don't normally have access to sports and games.

Luisa Orchard: Parent Governor

I am a highly motivated, achievement-focused individual experienced in sales development, customer loyalty programs and service management with ‘high-demand’ CIP/VIP clients. I have successfully managed clients’ requirements such as Sir Elton John’s guests international travel needs for his White Tie and Tiara Ball. In assisting the Elton John Aids Foundation to raise much needed funds for Aids victims as a recognition I was thanked for my extensive efforts in OK magazine.

As a young girl due to unfortunate circumstances I lived in Sicily. Not knowing how to speak, read or write Italian I found it extremely hard, but with great help from my school teachers I successfully learnt all these attributes in order to accomplish and successfully gain the school grades that are required to take up employment in Italy. From that point I have always believed anything is achievable when you put your mind to it and due to this experience I am extremely passionate about Education and I am always constantly looking at improving myself, even at the age of 33 I achieved an A levels in English Literature.

Working for Sir Richard Branson I was given a great opportunity of working abroad in Nigeria, and I am true believer that travel can educate us all in ways we never thought possible.

I thrive on solving problems mentoring younger staff in my line of business and I pride myself on the ability that I hold to quickly engage in order to build a great team rapport and client confidence.

14 years ago as I junior member of staff at Virgin Atlantic I achieved the highest sales target in the company’s history by making £3.9 million in 12 months and to this date no one has exceeded this. My knowledge base and management style have been tested in large and small teams.

By my nature, I am honest, adaptable, dependable and diligent, and I am extremely honoured to be serving as a School Governor.

Michael Shepherd: Parent Governor

Michael has three children currently attending Cheam Common Infants. He has a degree in accounting & finance and currently works in the HR function as Reward Manager for an Asset Management company.

Michael chose to apply to be a parent governor at Cheam Common, when the opportunity arose, to be able to use his professional skills to make a positive contribution to the school community, and governance of the school to ensure the best possible future for the children at Cheam Common.

Michael has been a parent governor since 2017.
