School Uniform

At Cheam Common Infants’  Academy we pride ourselves in looking smart with our school uniform. Wearing uniform promotes a sense of community within the school and allows children to demonstrate their pride in their school, both within school and when they are out in the local community.

School uniforms are provided by:

Our School Uniform

Main school (Reception to Year 2)

Red Cheam Common Infants' cardigan or sweatshirt

Grey pinafore dress or skirt

Grey trousers or shorts

White polo shirt

Summer dress - red and white checked 

Plain black shoes with a flat heel

• they should be suitable for school wear
• boots are not allowed, trainers should not be worn on non-PE days

Plain grey, black or white socks, plain grey or red tights

The school sweatshirt with the embroidered logo from Schoolwear Inc is reasonably priced. Besides the embroidered logo school sweatshirt/cardigan, you may purchase school uniform from high street shops and other retail outlets

Main school (Reception to Year 2) - PE uniform

On PE days, children should wear their PE kit to school and stay in their PE kit all day.

No branded logo clothing

Red PE shorts  

Black, grey or dark leggings or jogging bottoms

White tee-shirt or white polo shirt

Red Cheam Common Infants' cardigan or red school sweatshirt or red school fleece with logo 

Velcro trainers/black plimsolls 

Nursery Uniform

To help your child feel part of our school community and to protect their own clothing during our busy days, we ask that all children wear our Nursery uniform

Red Cheam Common Infants' cardigan or sweatshirt

Either black, grey or dark leggings or jogging bottoms 

Grey pinafore dress or skirt

Grey trousers or shorts

Trainers with velcro fastenings or plimsolls

Jewellery, Hair & Make-up

Jewellery such as rings, earrings or bracelets are not to be worn to school. In pierced ears, a plain round stud may be worn but must be removed for physical activities (including dance, gymnastics). We allow children to wear watches but they remain the responsibility of the child at all times. Smartwatches are not allowed. All watches must be turned in to the office for storage during school hours. Unauthorised devices will be confiscated and returned only at the end of the day. 

For safety reasons, long hair should be tied back at all times. No extreme styles of haircuts or eyebrow shavings are allowed. Hair must be of a natural colour and not dyed. Make-up and nail varnish are not allowed to be worn at school at any time.

Religious Beliefs

If you would like your child to wear clothing or jewellery specific to a particular religious belief, please contact us to discuss potential issues of educational standards and security.

Pre-loved Uniform

As well as the providers listed above, pre-loved uniform is available to purchase from Friends at organised events e.g., termly sales and Summer fair.  Please contact ccioffice@leoacademytrust.co.uk to discuss the next sale.  

Sutton Community Uniform Bank provides free school uniforms for 4 - 18 year olds (they are unable to provide footwear). There is no eligibility to use this service (it is open to anyone with a child or young person who needs a school uniform). Please see here for more information on support for school uniform costs.
