School Uniform

Statement for Equality

Under the Equality Act 2010 we have a duty not to discriminate against people on the basis of their age, disability, gender, gender identity, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.

It is school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours. We provide a complete list of the items needed for school uniform below.

School colours are grey and red.

Our policy on school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:

  • promotes a sense of pride in the school;
  • engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school;
  • is practical and smart;
  • identifies the children with the school;
  • prevents children from coming to school in fashion clothes that could be distracting in class;
  • makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;
  • is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents;
  • is designed with health and safety in mind.

All children at Cheam Common Infants' are expected to wear the correct uniform.

 Uniform Suppliers

The government released uniform guidance stating that branded clothing should be kept to a minimum.

Parents should not have to think about the cost of a school uniform when choosing which school(s) to apply for. Therefore, Cheam Common Infants’ Academy aims to ensure that our uniform is affordable.

In considering cost, schools need to think about the total cost of school uniforms, taking into account all items of uniform or clothing parents will need to provide while their child is at the school.

Schools are required to keep the use of branded items to a minimum.  Please refer to the links below if you wish to purchase branded uniform items.  For you information, this is optional and limited to the sweatshirt, cardigan and  PE t-shirt

One of the responsibilities of parents is to ensure that their child has the correct uniform and that it is clean and in good repair.
