LEO Catering Brochure

Meals are freshly cooked on the premises using local produce, free-range eggs, organic and Red Tractor meats. Roast dinners are cooked using whole, boneless joints of meat that are then carved, 'Posh Dogs' are made using award winning, over 80% meat, local sausages for example  Meals are planned to be healthy and nutritious. We cater for all dietary requirements e.g., vegetarian, gluten free, Halal, dairy intolerances to name but a few. On a daily basis in addition to the advertised menu a pasta dish and jacket potatoes are also available as are hot vegetable options where not listed on the menu. Cheam Common Infants' Academy does not offer toasted sandwiches or soup.

The well established Tasty Bite Troops have met the needs of the children perfectly. Such young children are attracted by visuals and by being able to relate the fruit and vegetables on their plates to these friendly and age appropriate characters, has been invaluable in encouraging the children to eat their 5 a day.

Packed Lunches

If you choose to provide your child with their own packed lunch please note the following guidance

We encourage our children to eat nutritious food whilst in school. Children should be given food which they can manage with a minimum of adult assistance.

  • Lunchboxes MUST NOT include products containing nuts. An increasing number of children have severe allergic reactions to products containing peanuts, including peanut butter.
  • Drinks should be provided in a small carton or sport style bottle (No fizzy drinks, glass bottles and cans).
  • Ensure all containers (incl. lids) and your child’s lunch box are named.
  • Sweets and chocolate bars are not allowed in school.

Free Fruit Scheme

The school participates in the ‘Fruit for Schools’ scheme. Children are offered fruit or seasonal vegetables to eat each day. The scheme is free for all children.

Milk

The school is able to provide milk for the children, however, this needs to be ordered and paid for termly in advance by the parent. Please contact the office for further information if you are interested in your child having milk in school.
