Ofsted Report and Data

Following our latest Ofsted inspection in May 2026, we are proud to announce that Cheam Common Infants' Academy has achieved 'Strong' standards across all areas, with an 'Exceptional' rating for Personal Development and Wellbeing.

'Pupils flourish both academically and socially at this school. Staff provide a warm and welcoming climate in which pupils grow in confidence and independence. Relationships are at the heart of the school. Staff model high levels of respect, consideration for others and enthusiasm for learning. Pupils respond by showing these qualities consistently in their own behaviour.'

'Pupils are happy and safe at school. They love learning and all can engage widely with plentiful opportunities to develop their talents and interests, such as in coding, sporting competitions and musical performance. Pupils benefit greatly from an extensive range of opportunities to pursue interests and try new things. They are exceptionally well prepared for life in their community and beyond.'

'Parents and carers are highly positive about their experience of the school. Leaders ensure that parents are valued partners in their children's education. This includes parents of pupils who may need additional support or adjustments from the school, for instance due to a special educational need and/or disability, or other barriers such as being new to speaking English.'

Ofsted Inspection Support

LEO Academy Trust extensively supports its schools during Ofsted inspections. This includes building strong relationships from the start, providing dedicated members of staff on inspection day, and showcasing the Trust's collaborative approach. During an inspection, the CEO and/or Director of Education will attend team meetings alongside the Principal, or will delegate this responsibility to another member of the Trust's Executive Team. Members of the Trust’s central education and professional services teams will often attend other meetings with inspectors, alongside leaders from the school.  The CEO, Chair of the Trust Board and Chair of the local Academy Committee will represent the Trust's governance in meetings with the inspection team. While the Trust leads many aspects of the school's work, the school itself maintains control over its daily operations. More details can be found in our Scheme of Delegation.
